EnvisionED Summit 2023
With a shared vision to shape the future of education in Pakistan, the HHS School System and Kifayat Publishers organized the EnvisionED Summit.
The Summit hosted educationists; school, university, and industry leaders; teachers; and students - attracting over 300 participants from 70 schools across the country and served as a starting point for a dynamic school education landscape, built on collaboration.
A Future-Facing Curriculum
A central focus of the event was designing a curriculum that unlocks students' potential and prepares them for the future—a future far more vast than ‘grades’ and ‘careers’. Speakers explored strategies for strengthening STEM education, incorporating climate science, and ensuring continuous innovation in learning.
The Role of Parents
Attendees and speakers reflected on the causes of the fractured parent-teacher relationship, including overcharging by private schools. They emphasized the need for parents and teachers to develop a respectful, collaborative relationship and for parents to support their children’s individual educational interests rather than imposing their own desires on children.
The Status of Teachers
Reflecting on their personal experiences as students, some of Pakistan’s most esteemed educators spoke about how the status of teachers in Pakistan has eroded over time. They advocated for a mindset shift among both students and teachers—one built on mutual respect, where teachers could once again become a source of mentorship and inspiration for students.
Standardization & Governance
Speakers discussed the issues in essential components of Pakistan’s education system—the national curriculum, board examinations, and governance practices. They also shared insights on improving these systems to achieve a minimum standard of education across the country.
Advice For Students
Leaders shared their perspectives on how young people can build purpose-driven careers and lives.
The Path Forward
The EnvisionEd Summit marked not the end but the the beginning of a journey.
